Welcome Back Roy!
We would like to say how happy we are to have Roy (Piano tutor) back early in the NMA camp after his trip. He has brought back with him wondrous tales and is full of enthusiasm as always.
Great to have you back Roy!

Smokie Concert - Saturday 8th May, 9pm. Sohail Castle, Fuengirola.
Paul Nelson and some of the NMA team went along to see the band Smokie play in concert on Saturday. They went backstage before the show to meet and chat to the band members about the world of Rock ‘n’ Roll and were delighted to meet the original band member and founder, Terry Uttley (bass guitarist).

Ross and Tom especially found the experience thrilling. They are currently following the Rockschool programme at the NMA so were amazed to see how hard work and dedication pays off!
Tom was fascinated by the whole build up of the show-from the musicians tuning their instruments to the crowd arriving. Watching the crowd’s reaction to the performance has really motivated him to work harder on his instruments and vocals. Ross found the concert very inspiring and particularly enjoyed Mick McConnell's (lead guitarist) skills on the guitar. Ross is now working on playing some of the songs he heard at the concert!
Both boys will be strumming at their guitar strings with their signed plectrums (picks) they were given by Terry Uttley.

Terry Uttley was kind enough to sign original copies of some of the sheet music that Roy Alan (our piano tutor) had in his collection from the 70s. Kimberly would like to thank Henrick, festival organiser for arranging the backstage passes and introducing the NMA to the group.

All in all a great evening was had by everyone!
